Dear Pastor,
My name is Josep Segurado, and it is with the same burden as the apostle Paul that I write you this letter. My wife and I are nationals from the country of Spain. From the day I surrendered to the Lord's call in my life, He burdened my heart for my own people and country.
My testimony is different from many of the Spanish people in that I was raised in a Christian home. This is a privilege and honor that not many Spanish people have. In my youth I resisted the Lord, but at the age of 17 I asked Jesus Christ to save me. After several years of spiritual struggle, the Lord took hold of my heart and called me into the ministry.
My wife's testimony is somewhat similar to mine in that she was also raised in a Christian home. Sara, whose parents are national missionaries to Spain, was saved at an early age and surrendered to the Lord's call early in her teenage years. It was in 2003 that the Lord joined our lives in marriage, and two months later we went to Baptist College of Ministry in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, to prepare to serve the Lord better.
In May 2006 the Lord graciously opened the door for us to become part of the missionary family of Baptist World Mission.
It has been our utmost desire to serve the Lord with all our hearts and lives. We feel privileged and honored that the Lord of the Harvest has called us back to our own country to spread the Gospel to the many souls who have never heard.
The purpose of this letter is to share with you Spain's need for men and women who will spend their lives to tell others of the saving faith that only Jesus Christ can give. We would be thrilled, if you see fit, to come to your church and share the burden the Lord has put in our hearts for the needy country of Spain.
We would do so through a DVD presentation, special music, and a challenge from the Word of God.
